What is AddressFix?
AddressFix is the latest product from GeoDirectory. AddressFix can correct and enhance your address lists to identify inaccurate addresses and provide you with an accurate up to date list of cleansed addresses. Not only does AddressFix cleanse your addresses but it can add value by providing Business Classification and Social Demographic information to provide you with additional information on your customers. Having accurate and up to date addresses will increase efficiencies in your business and save you money.
Why would my business need it?
Using AddressFix ensures that your address database is precise, comprehensive and up to date. Addresses change constantly with GeoDirectory making up to 600,000 changes in it's database each year so you can never be sure that you have the correct address for a customer. GeoDirectory’s address database is the most comprehensive in Ireland and it is constantly updated. Having the wrong address for a customer can cause many problems for a business including wasting money on promotional material, sending bills to the wrong person and damaging your business's reputation.
What is the benefit to my business?
Having accurate addresses can bring many benefits to your business. AddressFix will help to reduce wastage, provide greater revenue opportunities, aid cost savings and enhance your knowledge of your customer base.
What is GeoDirectory?
GeoDirectory is Ireland’s most authoritative electronic register of addresses matched precisely to their geographical locations. GeoDirectory has helped hundreds of businesses and other organisations in Ireland in reaching out to customers.
Who is behind GeoDirectory?
GeoDirectory is developed jointly by An Post and Ordnance Survey Ireland (OSi) – two of the State’s most reliable institutions. Their years of experience and expertise have been combined to create a database of over 1.9 million buildings and 2.2 million addresses.
How do you have access to up to date addresses?
GeoDirectory works in tandem with An Post and Ordnance Survey Ireland. With these resources, we can ensure unparalleled access to Ireland’s maps and business addresses.
Is it secure?
Yes AddressFix is secure. We use the latest security software to ensure that your data is kept safe at all times.
What is meant by Business Classification?
Business Classification is an optional detail offered on AddressFix. It means that in addition to having up to date contact details for your client, the information can also be categorised according to the business they provide, such as retail, service, wholesale, and so on. This allows you to better identify what types of companies are on your address lists and target them accordingly. It can help to identify a segment that you are heavily reliant on and discover new industries that you could target to increase sales.
How do you classify businesses?
Businesses are classified using NACE Codes. NACE codes are the statistical classification of economic activities in the European Community. Each business is assigned one NACE code. E.g. If a bar sells both beverages and food it will be classified as either a bar or a restaurant.
How much does it cost?
There are no set up charges with AddressFix and you only pay for the addresses that we can match. We charge you 20c per address we can match and 1c for every social demographic profile or business classification we can apply to your addresses. If we can only match one address we will only charge you for that. There are no minimum spend requirements or hidden charges.
Why does the information have to be in Excel?
AddressFix provides a service that works in tandem with your database. As such, all databases must be in the same format. We choose Excel because it is widely used, user-friendly and can easily be used to collate and update data.
What is an Eircode?
Eircode is the new Postcode that was introduced into Ireland in July 2015.  The postcode is a mix of Alphas and Numeric’s and is seven characters in length.
The Eircode is divided into two parts with the first three characters representing the general area and the last four characters the unique identifier.  An example of an Eircode is A65 R2GF.
What is a geocode/location code?
A location code is a reference number based on latitude and longitude (X,Y coordinates). GeoDirectory uses geocodes to precisely pinpoint the geographical location of buildings and other features of the landscape to within a metre of where it stands. Using geocodes supplied by GeoDirectory, in conjunction with mapping and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software, individual buildings can be visually depicted on a map of Ireland to create sales territories, routing schedules, catchment areas and locations of current, new and prospective customers.
Why have I been charged for an address that was correct in my file and no corrections were needed?
Even if AddressFix did not need to make any corrections to the address we are confirming that the address is correct and supplying the data back to you in a standardised format. Having your data in a standardised format is essential if you want to match other data sets for example Business Classifications or Social Demographic Information.
